Growing up an the era when the internet was the Wild Wild West, I remember just how unrestricted and unmonitored online exploration was. I often found myself in unsafe situations, unaware of the importance of protecting personal information. And, thanks to the magic of social media I am seeing on TikTok that I am not alone in this experience. This lack of guidance and awareness shaped my understanding of the digital world's risks and potentials. Now, with EnlightenHer's EducateHer mission, I am committed to ensuring that young girls are not only adept at using technology but are also wise and cautious navigators of the digital landscape.

The digital world has been a double-edged sword in my life. On one hand, technology has been a fantastic tool, making life easier and more connected. On the other hand, the rapid evolution of the internet means that seeing is no longer believing. With the advent of AI and deepfakes, impersonation and deception are just a click away. This new reality is why our EducateHer program is essential. We aim to teach girls to be educated consumers of media, understanding the nuances and complexities of the digital world.
